There are new impressive museums around the world that you cannot miss on your next vacation.
Travelers usually spend hours —and even days— exploring the traditional world-class museums like the Louvre in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York City, or the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.
Art lovers enjoy taking advantage of their vacations to visit the best museums and this year there are new fascinating museums that travelers must add to their bucket list.
Here are the five best new museums opening in 2023:
Museum of Royal Collections in Madrid, Spain
Museums are among the main attractions for travelers in Madrid, and a new impressive museum will open in 2023.
According to the information shared by The Guardian, this long-awaited project —which has been under construction since 1998— will finally open its doors in a few weeks.
The €162m project has been delayed by multiple unexpected events: the discovery of a section of the historic Muslims Walls in Madrid in 1999 and 2000, the financial crisis in 2008, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
But, on June 28, travelers from all over the world will finally be able to see the impressive collection of the Patrimonio Nacional, Spain’s national heritage institution, including hundreds of treasures from the Spanish royal collection and works of art from Goya, El Bosco, Tiziano, and more.
The Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt
Egypt is on track for a strong tourism recovery as it keeps getting visitors from all over the world. And there’s a new attraction that will help sustain this trend.
The Grand Egyptian Museum, set to open in November, will feature over 100,000 ancient pieces.
It is located in Cairo, near the Giza Pyramids, and will be one of the largest and most modern museums in the world.

This museum has also been under construction for years, it was announced in 2002, and it was expected to cost $500 million, but it surpassed $1 billion.
According to Egypt Travel Blog, this new stunning museum expects to welcome nearly 15,000 tourists per day.
Travelers can expect impressive experiences like admiring the gigantic 3,200-year-old statue of Ramses II at the entrance, a ‘theatrical’ Tutankhamun gallery, and a 3D cinema.
Local authorities expect to increase interest in archaeological tourism with this new impressive museum.
The Robot & AI Museum in Seoul, South Korea
Artificial Intelligence is everywhere, and the new Robot & AI Museum (RAIM) in the Chang-Dong district in Seoul will have all the information and best exhibits on this topic.
The new museum is set to open in July this year and has already won awards for its design and unique architecture.
Tech enthusiasts will have a blast at this four-story building and will have access to exclusive experiences and information.
Visitors will be able to interact with robots and smart technologies.
The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Poland
The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw is one of the most anticipated museums of 2023. The institution was already established, but in 2006 the government held a contest for a new architectural design and a new building.
Christian Kerez, a Swiss architect, won, and the new structure, also built in collaboration with the American firm Thomas Phifer and Partners, will open its doors this month.
The new modern building is located above the Warsaw Metro and features stunning galleries and a cinema.
International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina, United States
And there’s a new anticipated museum in the United States too. The International African American Museum is already selling general admission tickets—set at $19.95—as the museum will open its doors on June 27.
Its construction began in 2020—after two decades of planning—but the opening had been delayed this year due to humidity and temperature control issues.
The exhibitions will educate about untold stories and “explore cultures and knowledge systems retained and adapted by Africans in the Americas”, as the official website states.
Staff will provide guidance to people about their family history using their own collections as primary sources.
