Summer is fast approaching, and one thing many people have on their minds is to go on a vacation on the beach. Many people book island hotels worldwide to give them the same experience.

Beaches are an excellent place to hang out, not only if you’re single or have a big family; it’s where everyone belongs, no matter the type.

It’s also an excellent way to destress from regular life, and having a piña colada by the water isn’t the wrong way to spend your next vacation. Hotels are also popping up at every corner, and some of the best ones are island hotels that can give you that beach vacation you’ve always wanted.

Islands are perfect for getting away. They have some of the best beaches (depending on where they are), and finding the right hotel can make your vacation the best you have ever had.

New hotels need the best amenities like room service and pools, but it’s the best place if they have a beach.

Check out these six unique island hotels around the world opening in 2023:

1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, Hawaii

Located on the island of Kauai, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is one of the newest additions to the 1 Hotels family. Created this year to focus on sustainability, this 5-star hotel is the perfect getaway for anyone looking for a mindful retreat.

Rooms are beachfront, and many amenities are wellness-related, giving this resort an impressive rating among health-conscious travelers.

Not only will you have fantastic beaches, but you’ll also have a lush tropical forest to make you feel like you’re really on an island. Kauai is known as ‘The Garden Isle’ because the tropical forest covers most of the island.

Opening in late 2023, the Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island will have 50 sea-facing suites with many different intentional amenities. The resort aims to have a wellness and luxury angle when opened and will even have its plane runaway.

Seychelles has been a hot island destination pre-pandemic, and we expect it to become even more sought after when this hotel opens.

Ikos Odisia, Greece

The resort Ikos Odisia in Corfu, Greece, is perfect for families. It will be an all-inclusive property with 5-star amenities all around. If you’ve ever been to a Greek island, you know they have some of the bluest waters in Europe.

It’ll have six restaurants with Michelin-starred chefs and ten heated pools with an area devoted to children. This is the perfect place for large groups or families looking for a fun getaway.

Wayfinder Waikiki, Hawaii

Opened in January, the Wayfinder Waikiki is a hip resort perfect for the adventure traveler. It’s a boutique hotel located in the middle of Waikiki.

It has a rich style that invokes the summer season all year round. Due to its positioning, the views from some of the rooms will allow you to see the island unfiltered.

Hotel La Palma Capri, Italy

Transforming the first and original hotel on Capri, Hotel La Palma is expected to be the best place to spend your summer vacation.

With 50 rooms and its beach club, we hope this spot invokes the glamor of days long past with a touch of modernity fit enough for the everyday traveler. We can’t wait to visit this summer when it opens.

Cap Karoso Sumba, Indonesia

Another summer property opening is the Cap Karoso on Sumba island in Indonesia. Sumba is about an hour’s plane ride from Bali and is placing itself as an adventure traveler’s paradise. Mixing with local and Sumbanese heritage, each amenity this property will have is made with intention.

They’ll have about 47 rooms combined with studios and beachfront villas. Don’t expect this resort to be cookie-cutter; more than 50% of its energy will come from solar panels, and most activities will be location-specific.

It will be an excellent spot for water sports, like surfing or diving.

Islands are a great way to get away and enjoy life. Not every island nor its people are the same, but relaxing on one is always a dream. Check out these new island hotels before the year is over.
