The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI), in collaboration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), conducted its latest Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) programme on June 12 at the Fern Sardar Sarovar Resort in Kevadia, Vadodara. The training programme witnessed the participation of 36 professionals from the hospitality industry to enhance their knowledge and skills in ensuring safe and healthy food practices.
The FoSTaC programme was inaugurated by Dr. Pashupathy- Trainer, Mr. Navin Sangwan – Executive Assistant Manager, Mr. Vinod Kumar – HR Manager and Mr. Hemanshu Chauhan – Assistant Secretary General, HRAWI.
“The importance of the training program cannot be overstated. At a time when consumers are increasingly health-conscious and highly concerned about food safety, it is critical for the hospitality industry to stay ahead of the curve by providing safe and healthy food. By investing in employee training and certification, hospitality establishments not only improve their reputation but also provide an enhanced customer experience, which in turn drives increased loyalty and business growth. The collaboration between FSSAI and HRAWI reflects our shared commitment to promoting safe and healthy food practices in the hospitality industry. We take immense pride in the success of this initiative and our commitment in this direction is unwavering,” says Mr Pradeep Shetty, President, HRAWI.
The comprehensive training program covered a wide range of important topics, including food handling and preparation, hygiene and sanitation and waste management. By immersing themselves in these key areas, hospitality professionals gained an in-depth understanding of food safety practices and acquired the skills necessary to effectively implement them in their daily operations. HRAWI has successfully trained and certified 2611 professionals in FoSTaC and FSSAI’s Management Training Program, making a remarkable impact across the Western region of India.
“The FoSTaC programme has strengthened the principles of safe and healthy food practices in the region. The fifth World Food Safety Day 2023 was celebrated on June 07, and the recent training programme served as a testament to the unified global commitment to ensuring food safety for all,” concludes Dilip Kothari, Jt. Hon. Secretary, HRAWI.
