The study by the travel and luggage experts at Bounce analysed countries across the globe on their safety index scores to reveal the safest countries for solo travellers.  The safest countries for solo travel in 2023:

Feeling safe when visiting a foreign country is always important, but it takes on extra significance when you’re travelling alone. Japan is the safest country for solo travellers in 2023 with a safety index score of 76.9 out of 100. The more safety-minded adventurer will feel right at home in cities such as Tokyo and Osaka.

Switzerland is the second safest country for solo travel in 2023 with a safety index score of 76.4 out of 100. With its scenic views and plenty of culture to explore you can do so with peace of mind.

The third safest country on the list is Slovenia with a safety index score of 75.8, again if you are a safety-conscious solo traveller this may be the location for you.

The research by Bounce also revealed the top 5 countries with the lowest crime index scores:

Japan also retains the lowest crime index score at 23.1/100. One of the safest countries you can visit, Japan is perfect for solo travellers who like peace of mind while they travel without company. Switzerland and Slovenia follow closely behind in second and third position.
