Loyalty programs can help travelers feel appreciated and travel even more, and airlines have been offering customers many interesting deals for their loyalty.

From getting an upgrade in cabin class to an extra bag to an international flight for free with miles or points: it makes travelers feel amazing and want to pledge allegiance to the carrier.

There are multiple airlines and loyalty systems that are rapidly changing. This time, JetBlue has officially launched a new loyalty program, TrueBlue, with a new system with multiple perks and benefits.

JetBlue wants travelers to join a “game” to earn and redeem points with a new customizable experience.

The carrier announced the new program last year, and it’s now live.

Just like a game expansion, the modernized system has new levels and strategies for travelers to get more exchange opportunities and choose from a menu of options.

JetBlue isn’t the only U.S. airline updating redeem systems; a few months ago, also Delta updated its frequent flyer membership program making it harder to earn points.

Is JetBlue going to make it more difficult to earn more points? It doesn’t look like that, but there are new rules and options.

What’s The New TrueBlue Loyalty Program All About?

The New TrueBlue program will consider and include JetBlue’s partners and services —Paisly.com, American Airlines flights, JetBlue Vacations, and JetBlue’s flight services as well.

The new system includes a feature to track progress in the program: tiles. Once travelers have purchased products or services related to the loyalty program, they can start earning tiles.

For every $100 spent, customers get 1 tile. And, for every $1,000 spent using one of JetBlue’s credit cards, another tile will be awarded.

With the new Perks You Pick, every time a traveler accumulates 10 tiles, they can choose from a menu of perks:

  • Priority at security at selected airports.
  • Early Boarding.
  • An alcoholic drink for adult travelers.
  • A JetBlue vacation bonus.
  • A 5,000 points bonus.

After a traveler reaches over 50 tiles they can upgrade status to Mosaic.

The Mosaic status gives customers access to more perks.

Mosaic Perks

After reaching Mosaic status, customers will gain access to different levels depending on the number of tiles they gather.

On Mosaic 1 level travelers can get two checked bags for free, same-day switches, more space at check-in, and the tiles perks mentioned above.

For customers reaching Mosaic Level 2, up to 200 tiles, can get 7” of legroom for free.

On the next level travelers with up to 150 tiles get four certificates with which they can book a seat in core and upgrade to Mint —the carrier’s business class— for free upon availability.

For transatlantic routes, customers need 2 certificates per segment —meaning one round trip— to get the upgrade, but certain domestic flights require just one certificate per segment and per person.

And the last level, Mosaic 4 (up to 250 tiles), customers get two more certificates to book in Core and upgrade to Mint, and, an exciting perk: credits for 4 one-way helicopter services with BLADE in New York from JFK to EWR.

The carrier has also explained that each time a traveler changes to a better Mosaic level, they also get more perks: a FoundersCard Blue Membership —with benefits—, a Pet Fee Waiver, $99 credit on JetBlue Cards, 20 tiles as a bonus, 15,000 points, and Mint Suite priority access.

Travelers can redeem points for travel and Cash+Points and these do not expire. The carrier also offers passengers the possibility to share points with the Points Pooling service—with up to 7 family members and friends.
