This Low-Cost Airline Is Launching Direct Flights To London From These 4 Major U.S. Cities

Fancy jetting off to London? Trips across the pond are about to get more convenient and much cheaper with new flights from an airline you might not have ever heard of before. The new(ish) Norwegian-based carrier Norse Atlantic Airways will soon make it easier for passengers to travel between the U.S. and London. This week the airline announced the addition of routes from four major U.S. cities direct to London Gatwick (LGW).
Norse Atlantic is a newcomer to the skies, having only made its inaugural flight in June of 2022. These new routes represent a significant commitment to the company’s goal of offering affordable flights across the Atlantic.
Additionally, the expansion now means that Norse Atlantic is the #1 airline providing service between the U.S. and London Gatwick Airport. In total, the airline will operate 14 routes with 39 flights each week between LGW and the U.S.
What Are The New Routes?
Norse Atlantic’s new routes will service four new cities in the U.S. in addition to its current NYC route and two other destinations that were announced last month. The newest round of cities includes:
Washington D.C.
Flights to LGW originating in Washington D.C. (IAD) will launch on June 1 and operate 6 times each week. Roundtrip journeys in economy will start at $514.
Los Angeles
On June 30th, Norse Atlantic will commence service to Los Angeles (LAX). Flights to LAX will operate daily with roundtrip fares starting at $514. The airline also operates twice-weekly flights between Los Angeles and Oslo.

San Francisco
San Francisco (SFO) service will launch on July 1 and run three times each week. Economy fares from SFO to LGW start at $490 roundtrip.
Boston
This fall, Norse Atlantic will launch flights to Boston (BOS). Beginning September 2, passengers can fly from BOS to LGW with fares starting at $442. Flights will operate 5 times a week.
Flights To Other U.S. Destinations
The announcement of the new London Gatwick routes to Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston is just the latest in a series of recent additions to the Norse Atlantic’s operating schedule. As the young airline continues to grow, we can expect more low-cost transatlantic to come into play.
New York
Norse Atlantic already operates daily flights from New York JFK to London Gatwick and Oslo, as well as 4x weekly flights to Berlin. Later this year, daily flights to Paris (starting on March 23) and Rome (beginning June 19) will commence.
Orlando
Just a few weeks ago, Norse Atlantic announced the addition of a new route between London Gatwick and Orlando (MCO). Flights between the two cities will start on May 25, and fares start at $489 for basic economy. During May and June, flights will operate four times a week and then ramp up to daily service during the peak of summer.
Fort Lauderdale
Flights between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and London Gatwick will start on May 26, with fares starting at $490. Initially, they will operate three flights each week during May and June before adding an additional day for the rest of the summer.
Additionally, Fort Lauderdale already has service to Oslo and will add flights to Berlin later this year.
How Do Norse Atlantic Flights Stack Up?
Flying on Norse Atlantic across the Atlantic won’t come with the bells and whistles you’ll find in Air France’s new luxurious business class, but it will be a much more affordable option for budget-conscience passengers. The airline exclusively flies Boeing 787 Dreamliners and offers two cabin choices, Economy and Premium. Fares include Light, Classic, and Plus. Premium Plus offers the maximum baggage allowance, ticket flexibility, and two meal services. Meanwhile, Economy Light fares, the cheapest option, simply include one under-seat bag.
And what about prices? A quick comparison using Google Flights shows the price difference between comparable flights.
For a Boston – Gatwick flight this fall, Norse Atlantic costs $429, while JetBlue comes in at $594.
Washington Dulles – LGW on Norse Atlantic is priced at $640, and while there are no other flights direct between the two cities, a United Flight to London Heathrow for the same dates is $1,283 – more than double the price!
Meanwhile, a flight from JFK – LGW during the first week of July will cost $956 on Norse Atlantic and slightly less on Delta at $924.
