Spring is just around the corner, and many couples are taking advantage of this season to explore new international destinations. According to recent data from Airbnb, American couples are looking for romantic destinations for spring. 

Airbnb has announced that most spring searches and reservations for couples have been made to European cities. U.S. travelers are interested in rich cultural experiences in the Old Continent, but other fascinating destinations have also been on the list. 

The preferred destinations have been determined by searches growth in 2022 from U.S. users—for stays during spring 2023— and have been compared to searches in 2021 for the same periods of time: from March 1 to April 30.

Here are the top 7 spring destinations for couples according to Airbnb data:

Rome, Italy 

Romance is in the air! American couples are choosing Rome as one of the preferred cities in Europe for spring, and what a great choice! The average temperature in this season is 68ºF (20ºC), beautiful flowers embellish the city and it’s perfect to visit all landmarks and most important monuments without the large crowds. 

And yes, let’s not forget the delicious Italian food—an original Italian carbonara, please!— and the incredible amount of activities and experiences, including off-path tours.

Seoul, South Korea 

The capital of South Korea is on many travelers’ minds. This impressive metropolis has all the conditions to provide a life-changing vacation experience at any time of the year and during spring visitors will also get to see the cherry blossoms!
